DESCRIPTION:Huskies Swim Training is a program that provides additional at
 tention and competitive guidance to advanced swimmers looking to focus on 
 stroke technique and efficiency.\n\nSessions will be designed to improve s
 wimming through stroke drills and swimming sets focused on endurance\, spe
 ed\, and race strategy. Coaches will provide feedback and stroke correctio
 n in a group environment with an emphasis on promoting a love for competit
 ive swimming and lifelong skills such as discipline\, dedication\, and tea
 mwork. Come be part of the pack!\n\nCompetitive swimming opportunities are
  now available to current Huskies Swim Training participants! Contact Anni
 e Bengry at ambengry@mtu.edu for more information.\n\nParticipants must ha
 ve completed the Huskies Group Swim Lessons\, American Red Cross Learn-to-
 Swim Level 4 or equivalent\, demonstrate competency in all four strokes\, 
 and be able to swim multiple lengths of the pool unassisted. Please see th
 e Training Groups table for more information.\n\nThe first week of each se
 ssion\, participants will be placed into groups based on speed and stroke 
 proficiency. It is recommended that all participants participate 3 days a 
 week to see optimal stroke and speed improvement.\n\nPlease contact Annie 
 Bengry\, Aquatics Manager\, with any questions regarding group placement o
 r if your child is ready for this program.

  Cross Preschool Aquatics levels are being offered at the SDC Pool for age
 s 4 to 5 years old.\n\nPreschool Aquatics \nAges: 4-5 years\nA parent is r
 equired to be in the water with each participant.\nDescription: Preschool 
 Aquatics is designed to orient young preschoolers to the aquatic environme
 nt and to help them gain basic aquatic skills. In addition\, participants 
 start learning about how to be safe around water. \nLearning Objectives:\n
 ● Techniques for entering and exiting the water\n● Blow bubbles throug
 h mouth and nose\n● Bobbing\n● Retrieve submerged objects\n● Front a
 nd back glides and floats\n● Body control and manipulation in the water\
 n● Tread water using arm and hand actions\n● Alternating and simultane
 ous leg and arm actions on front and back\n● Treading water\n● Learn w
 ater safety skills\nNo previous swimming lesson skills or history needed t
 o participate in this level.\n\nSpace will be provided for personal items 
 on the pool deck. Goggles are highly recommended. Showering is required be
