DESCRIPTION:11 Days: Operation Pineapple Express\nSeptember 10 & 11\, 2026
\n7:00 pm both days \nNHCC | Wells Fargo Auditorium \nHow far would you go
to honor a promise? \nWhat would you do if leadership told you the missio
n was over\, but the people you’d promised to protect were still in dang
er? That’s not a hypothetical. In August 2021\, as Kabul fell and the Ta
liban closed in on the Kabul airport\, retired U.S. Army Green Beret Lt. C
ol. Scott Mann faced exactly that question. His answer became one of the m
ost remarkable rescue operations in modern American history\, saving more
than 1\,000 Afghans in danger of losing their lives. \nA Task Force Pineap
 ple Production \n$34 w/ a $5 discount for Students. Veterans\, 1st Respond
 ers\, Seniors\, & Members \nRESERVE YOUR TICKET HERE!\nThe Fall of Afghani
stan & Operation Pineapple Express: \nIn August 2021\, after nearly 20 yea
rs of war\, the United States and its allies began their final withdrawal
from Afghanistan. The Afghan government and military collapsed rapidly\, a
nd on August 15\, 2021\, the Taliban entered Kabul and reclaimed control o
f the country. Thousands of Afghans who had worked alongside American forc
es suddenly found themselves at risk of retaliation. \nAs the evacuation u
nfolded\, retired Green Beret Lt. Col. Scott Mann and a network of fellow
veterans launched Task Force Pineapple. What began as an effort to rescue
one former Afghan commando grew into the Pineapple Express\, an unofficial
rescue operation that helped guide Afghan allies\, interpreters\, special
operators\, and their families through Taliban-controlled Kabul and towar
d the airport. The volunteer team ultimately helped more than 1\,000 peopl
e reach safety.\nThe story of Pineapple Express is more than an evacuation
 . It is a story of loyalty\, courage\, sacrifice\, and a promise kept—as
American veterans returned for one final mission to help the Afghan partn
ers who had stood beside them during the war. \n\n*The event is a rental e

DESCRIPTION:Killer Lloronas and Other Misconstrued Stories at the Lobo The
ater (Friday\, September 18)\nFar From the Tree Productions brings Killer
Lloronas and Other Misconstrued Stories to the Historic Lobo Theater on Fr
 iday\, September 18\, 2026. Doors open at 7:00 PM\, with food and drinks a
vailable all night. This is one of four performances across the last two w
eekends of September\, and each night is its own chance to catch the show
that has Albuquerque talking. \nBuy Tickets on Eventbrite \nAbout the show
\nKiller Lloronas and Other Misconstrued Stories is a set of five vignette
plays in two acts. Together they follow a young immigrant girl finding he
r footing in a new community\, reading and misreading the tropes of both h
er own culture and the one she is growing into. The result moves between h
umor\, heartache\, and the kind of honest discomfort that good theater is
built on. It is funny\, it is sharp\, and it does not look away from the h
arder parts. \nThe work showcases local talent from top to bottom\, and it
leans into storytelling as the main event. There are strong scripts\, com
mitted performances\, and a point of view that feels specific to New Mexic
o and to the people telling it. \nWho is behind Killer Lloronas\nThe Kille
r Lloronas is an Albuquerque based troupe of actors\, writers\, and digita
l artists who build plays and performances that put local voices on stage.
Their goal is both simple and ambitious: bring strong\, powerful storytel
ling to live theater and give Albuquerque audiences something made by and
for their own community. You can follow the troupe on Facebook and Instagr
am at killerlloronas to keep up with the run and what comes next. \nPlan y
our night at the Lobo\nThe Historic Lobo Theater sits at 3013 Central Ave
NE in Nob Hill\, right on historic Route 66. Doors are at 7:00 PM. The ven
ue runs a full bar and has food and drinks available\, so you can make a f
ull evening of it without leaving the room. Street parking is available al
ong Central and the nearby side streets. Tickets are 25 dollars through Ev
entbrite\, and the best seats go early. \nWhat to expect at the show\nPlan
for an evening built around five short plays\, staged in two acts with an
intermission in the middle. The vignettes move quickly and cover a wide t
onal range\, from laugh-out-loud comedy to quiet\, heavier moments\, so th
e night never sits in one place for long. The Lobo stage gives the cast ro
om to work\, and the theater seating keeps you close to the action. Arrive
a little early\, settle in with something from the bar\, and let the stor
