DESCRIPTION:Richard Levy Gallery is pleased to present Particle and the Wa
ve: Oracles and Symbols for Living and Dying\, a solo show by Alex Ponca S
tock. \nParticle and the Wave features eight abstract artworks that explor
e the conjunction of modern technological and scientific knowledge with th
e ancient knowledge handed down from our ancestors. Using the traditional
beaded broadcloth found in Osage regalia\, Alex Ponca Stock considers a br
oad array of modern and historical references\, including color field pain
ting\, early Christian heresies\, ancient mound-builders\, and quantum phy
sics. The result of her experimentation with larger-scale work\, this exhi
bition is a mature showcase of Ponca Stock’s ability to visually dissect
the currents of 21st century life. \nPonca Stock’s practice combines in
tensive research with the slow\, meditative labor of beading to create obj
ects with a strong sense of internal order. The composition of her soft te
xtile works are often reminiscent of the aesthetic of technology—motherb
oards\, logic gates\, 3D renderings—without ever betraying the beauty an
d integrity of the medium. In her choice of color\, Ponca Stock is highly
attuned not only to the symbolic and emotional power of color\, but its ph
ysiological effect. \nAlex Ponca Stock (b. 1986) is a painter and beadwork
er from the Gray Horse District of the Osage Nation and the third generati
on in her family to graduate from the Kansas City Art Institute. Her work
has been exhibited by the Denver Art Museum\, the First Americans Museum\,
and the Osage Nation Museum\, among others. The artist currently lives an
 d works in Santa Fe\, NM. \nExhibition Dates: August 26–October 17\, 202

n At United Way of North Central New Mexico\, our mission is drive
n by local action that creates lasting impact. In 2025\, United Way Worldw
ide selected UWNCNM to be featured as part of a national storytelling and
photography project. This initiative highlighted how local United Ways res
pond to urgent challenges while building long term solutions for their com
munities. The national feature showcased our ability to mobilize volunteer
 s\, workplaces\, nonprofit partners\, and community members. Together\, we
address immediate needs while strengthening overall community resilience.

spotlighted several key efforts across central New Mexico: Emergency Respo

enerous local partners\, we collected over 3\,200 pounds of nonperishable
food for eight nonprofit partners. Shining a Light on ALICE: The project f
eatured our ongoing ALICE work\, helping community members better understa
nd the difficult financial choices working households navigate every day.
Dignity Through Local Solutions: The feature highlighted a community led f

DESCRIPTION:Killer Lloronas and Other Misconstrued Stories at the Lobo The
ater (Saturday\, September 19)\nFar From the Tree Productions brings Kille
r Lloronas and Other Misconstrued Stories to the Historic Lobo Theater on
Saturday\, September 19\, 2026. Doors open at 7:00 PM\, with food and drin
ks available all night. This is one of four performances across the last t
wo weekends of September\, and each night is its own chance to catch the s
how that has Albuquerque talking. \nBuy Tickets on Eventbrite \nAbout the
show\nKiller Lloronas and Other Misconstrued Stories is a set of five vign
ette plays in two acts. Together they follow a young immigrant girl findin
g her footing in a new community\, reading and misreading the tropes of bo
th her own culture and the one she is growing into. The result moves betwe
en humor\, heartache\, and the kind of honest discomfort that good theater
is built on. It is funny\, it is sharp\, and it does not look away from t
he harder parts. \nThe work showcases local talent from top to bottom\, an
d it leans into storytelling as the main event. There are strong scripts\,
committed performances\, and a point of view that feels specific to New M
exico and to the people telling it. \nWho is behind Killer Lloronas\nThe K
iller Lloronas is an Albuquerque based troupe of actors\, writers\, and di
gital artists who build plays and performances that put local voices on st
age. Their goal is both simple and ambitious: bring strong\, powerful stor
ytelling to live theater and give Albuquerque audiences something made by
and for their own community. You can follow the troupe on Facebook and Ins
tagram at killerlloronas to keep up with the run and what comes next. \nPl
an your night at the Lobo\nThe Historic Lobo Theater sits at 3013 Central
Ave NE in Nob Hill\, right on historic Route 66. Doors are at 7:00 PM. The
venue runs a full bar and has food and drinks available\, so you can make
a full evening of it without leaving the room. Street parking is availabl
e along Central and the nearby side streets. Tickets are 25 dollars throug
h Eventbrite\, and the best seats go early. \nWhat to expect at the show\n
Plan for an evening built around five short plays\, staged in two acts wit
h an intermission in the middle. The vignettes move quickly and cover a wi
 de tonal range\, from laugh-out-loud comedy to quiet\, heavier moments\, s
o the night never sits in one place for long. The Lobo stage gives the cas
t room to work\, and the theater seating keeps you close to the action. Ar
rive a little early\, settle in with something from the bar\, and let the
story carry you. \nAbout Far From the Tree Productions\nFar From the Tree
Productions is the company presenting this run\, putting its weight behind
a homegrown New Mexico production and the local artists who bring it to l
ife. The partnership with the Killer Lloronas troupe puts Albuquerque writ
ers\, actors\, and digital artists front and center\, on a real stage\, in
front of a real audience. Supporting a night like this is a direct way to
back local theater and the people making it here. \nTickets and details\n
Tickets are 25 dollars and available now on Eventbrite. Doors are at 7:00
PM\, the venue is the Historic Lobo Theater at 3013 Central Ave NE\, and f
ood\, drinks\, and a full bar are available on site. Seating is general\,
so earlier arrivals get the better spots. \nAll four performances\nKiller
Lloronas runs for four nights only. If Saturday\, September 19 does not fi
t\, try one of the other dates: \n\nFriday\, September 18\nFriday\, Septem
 ber 25\nSaturday\, September 26\n\nPick your night\, grab your tickets\, a
